About Us |

Celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2007, the Long Run Pony Club is open to any child with the use of a pony or horse who is interested in increasing their equestrian skills and meeting other children with similar interest. Our club is located in Lagrange, KY, and is a non-profit organization, managed and organized by parental volunteers.
Long Run Pony Club belongs to the Midsouth Region of the United States Pony Clubs. Our region consist of 31 clubs and one riding center across seven states.
The United States Pony Club is one of the leading junior equestrian organizations in the world, represented throughout 30 countries! The United States has over 600 individual clubs with more than 12,000 members.
Pony Club provides opportunities for instruction and competition in English riding, horse sports, and horse management for children and young adults up to 25 years of age. The term “pony” reflects the age of the members, rather than the size of the mount. Horses and ponies of many different breeds, shapes, and sizes are seen in Pony Club activities.
LRPC provides instruction throughout the year, both mounted and unmounted. Our unmounted meetings cover things such as horse health care, tack and equipment use, bitting, grooming, stable management, etc Mounted meetings provide the members with an opportunity to learn from top instructors who provide lessons in dressage, show jumping, and cross-country.
The highlight of the year for many Pony Clubbers is the opportunity to go to Mega Rally. Rally is held at the Kentucky Horse Park in June and provides the members competition in Dressage, Show Jumping, Eventing, or Tetrathon. Doing well at the Mega-Rally can earn an invitation to Championships which is usually held at the Virginia Horse Park; but every third year is held in Kentucky, along with Festival, several days of educational opportunities.
Another exciting competition available is Quiz Rally. Quiz Rally is when the members come together to test themselves on their knowledge of horse-related things. The format includes a written test, barn, stations and mega-room.
Games Rally is a competition in mounted games.
