Long Run

Founded in 1957, the Long Run Pony Club focuses on lifelong learning. Our regular programming is volunteer run and includes equine professionals from across various disciplines and services. US Pony Club curriculum includes Eventing, dressage, show jumping, tetrathlon, polocrosse, and more. The resource disciplines for US Pony Club also being explored and pursued by some of our LRPC members are driving, fox hunting, hunt seat equitation, and polo, to name a few.

For those unfamiliar with Pony Club, it’s the scouting for the horse enthusiast with access to a horse or pony. Regular “meetings” are both on (mounted) and off (unmounted) the horse. The meetings are hosted at various facilities in and surrounding Louisville, where guest instructors teach members new ideas and approaches, reinforcing instruction in their chosen discipline, or introducing riders to new disciplines. For example, we have members focused on dressage, trying their hand at hunter paces, eventers who like to dance in the sandbox of a dressage arena, hunter jumpers checking out the western trail rides. Membership for juniors and adults offers various social and educational beyond our gatherings.

Membership is open to any child or adult. We are a non-profit, so we encourage our members to volunteer not just within our club, but also in our broader equestrian community.
